Tackling Unique Challenges With Expertise & Creativity
Advantage Steel and Construction was contracted by the WVDOH to rehabilitate the historic Wheeling Suspension Bridge. Rehabilitation included the installation of brand-new wire cables, an intricate lighting system, miscellaneous structural steel repairs, and cleaning and painting of the bridge. Replacing the existing stay and sway wire rope cables required a complex winch and pulley system and falsework towers. Brayman Foundations worked with Advantage to complete a complicated repair of the main cable at the northeast anchorage vault where they drilled and installed a soldier pile and multiple anchors within extremely tight tolerances.
