Advantage Steel and Construction had the opportunity to replace an existing through truss railroad bridge over the Mahoning River in Youngstown, Ohio for CSX/Brayman Construciton. The complex erection required the new bridge to be constructed just upstream of the existing bridge, which remained in service.
The erection of the 490 foot four-span, through-girder bridge required critical lifts on a causeway, and temporary support systems. Assembly of the 11 foot deep girders required extensive planning and design for successful execution.
